1. During the 6th Annual General Body Meeting (AGBM), a suggestion was made to start stitching non-woven bags within the community. On October 28, 2022, we collected information from nearby locations, including Thirupathur, Thiruvannamalai, Vettavalam, and other areas. We received valuable insights from Mr. Prabhakaran, who operates a small-scale industry in Thirupathur. He later invited us to his facility, where we learned about the stitching methods and practiced stitching non-woven bags, receiving sample bags to work on.
2. On November 9, 2022, we sent a large shopper bag, which we had stitched, to Sr. Paulin Mary (General Coordinator and Executive Member) and Sr. Josephine Annal Amali (Provincial and Vice-President) via post. Following this, Sr. Paulin Mary requested us to gather information about the printing process as well.
3. Accordingly, on November 15, 2022, we met with Mr. Prabhakaran to discuss the printing work. That day, with his assistance, we shared the details of our society to establish a framework for printing and paid an initial amount of ₹1,600.
4. On November 23, 2022, Mr. Prabhakaran visited our society and conducted a training session on cutting fabrics, measuring, and stitching non-woven materials. He also instructed us on the printing process and how to clean the framework.
5. Finally, on November 24, 2022, the stitched patterns were printed and sent to Sr. Josephine Annal Amali (Vice-President) and Sr. Paulin Mary (Executive Member) for their review.
